I have a 2004 ES330 with a hestitation problem. It is fine from a full stop but later than I go going on for turns on onto highway ramps, following I hurt the accellarator (sp?) it hesitates for 2 seconds previously reving up. I ve taken it to a mechanic and he says it is normal. I have an 2003 Avalon later the same engine and it jumps off the begin and has no hesitation. This is a drive-by-wire model for that reason it has not throttle cable or usual TPS. I understand the TPS is integrated in the same way as the throttle controller/motor. Might along with be worth checking the wiring and connector to the airflow meter for any signs of corrosion or damage. you can reach a quick malformation locate if you unplug the meter and run the engine without it. if the engine condition is the same next chances are the meter or the membership to it is faulty. Its plus worth cleaning the MAF sensor wires, as they can acquire coated in imitation of dirt beyond epoch which after that offsets the reading. Use some contact cleaner or brake cleaner to spray onto the wires to remove the dirt on no account be adjacent to the wires afterward anything as they are agreed fragile

This could be a large vacuum leak ,with the MAF linked it is without help measuring the ventilate that is getting when the MAF, thus if the intake manifold is sucking in freshen the let breathe to fuel ratio will be entirely out and cause the engine to stal
